Cleber Francisco Alves

Professor at the Universidade Federal Fluminense, where he teaches Procedural Law and Topics on Access to Justice. He received his PhD in Law (2005) from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (his doctoral thesis is a comparative study about “Legal Aid in the United States, in France and in Brazil”). He was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Baltimore, USA (2003) and at the Université de Montpellier, France (2004), and at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London, UK (2015). He is also a Public Defender of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. He has been Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Universidade Católica de Petrópolis (1999-2002), where he was coordinator of the M.Sc. Program in Human Rights, Law Procedures and Access to Justice. Currently he is a researcher at the PPGSD-UFF (Graduate Program in Sociology and Law).

Bernard dos Reis Alô

Bernard dos Reis Alô holds a Masters in Legal and Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal Fluminense and a Bachelor of Law from the Universidade Federal Fluminense. He is a Federal Public Defender with the 1st Civil and Social Security Office of the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Niterói. He is the author of the book The Role of the Public Defenders’ Office in the De-judicialization of Health.  His focus is on themes related to access to justice and legal demands against the Public Administration, with an emphasis on dejudicialization and alternative methods of conflict resolution.
